Mr. Walter Earl "Fuzzy" Gardner, 67, of Paris died Wednesday, January 18, 2016, at Memphis VA Medical Center. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.He was born on January 1, 1950, in Paris, Tennessee to the late Walter Ellis and Katherine VanDyke Gardner.He attended Henry County Training School and graduated from Central High School in 1968. On June 17, 1968, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he served as a field wireman. He received the following medals; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant from the United States Marine Corp. He then enlisted in United States Navy for one year receiving an honorable discharge and also from the Army National Guard.Fuzzy is survived by a daughter, Felicia Busby of Memphis, Tennessee; a brother, Dondi (Patricia) Gardner; two sisters, Iris Gardner and Carol Gardner all of Paris, Tennessee; a granddaughter, Aleiah Ballard of Memphis, Tennessee; one niece and a host of nephews.He was also preceded in death by a brother, Mitchell Gray.
