Mrs. Waynie L. Puckett, 100, of Paris died Friday, March 14, 2025, at Patriot Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Services will be held at noon on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Sparks Street Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Sparks Street Church of Christ. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the church.
Sister Waynie was born on May 4, 1924, to the late Cardie Fitzgerald and Wayne Teague.
She professed a hope in Christ at an early age. A faithful member of Sparks Street Church of Christ. On November 15, 1947, she joined in Holy matrimony to Voidell Puckett. She retired from HCMC in June 1986 after working 38 years.
Aunt Waynie loved the Lord, her church, and her family. If she was able to help you, she would always be there. She always went out her way to speak an encouraging word to those around her or when you ask her. Whether you liked it or not she spoke the truth. She loved to cook especially those “pound cakes.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Herman Tharpe , stepson, David Perry.
She leaves to cherish her memories, nieces, Deborah Hutcherson, Donna Tharpe, and Ann Johnson all of Paris, TN, Tammy Tyler of Trenton, TN, Martha Appleton of Huntsville, AL, nephew, Cornelius (Debbie) Littleton of Crockett, TX, step grandson, David Perry III, seven great-nieces, fifteen great-great nieces, 5 great-great-great nieces, eleven great-nephews, fifteen great-great nephews, three great-great-great nephews, one sister -in-law, Mary Eaves of Louisville, TN, and a big big host of cousins and friends.
