Wendell Mcclain

Mr. Wendell McClain, 66, of Paris died Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at his residence.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cottage Grove.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel.

Wendell McClain was born January 17, 1955, to the late Milton and Willie B. McClain of Cottage Grove, Tennessee.

He was a graduate of Henry County High School Class of 1973. Up- on his graduation, he joined Tennessee National Guard which he served for 20 years and later retired.

Wendell professed his faith in Christ at an early age at Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and devoted his services at Cedar Hill as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and a faithful member of the Male Chorus.
"Dale" as he was affectionately known was a friend to many and loved to make others laugh. He enjoyed being with his family, fishing, and watching football, especially the Tennessee Titans.

As a young man Dale grew up in Cottage Grove with special neph- ews, Edward “Tubby” McClain and James Alonzo Felton; two endearing nieces, Yolanda “Na-Na” Harris and Andrea Fuller whose hearts he won over in a special way.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents Milton and Willie B. McClain, an infant brother James Milton McClain, two sisters, Millie McClain Fuller, Elizabeth "Nina" McClain Kidd, and his loving wife Janice Faye McClain .
He leaves to cherish him always, five sisters; Gladys McClain, Ada Sue McClain, and Pearlie Kidd of Cottage Grove, Tennessee; Betty Harris (Jimmy) of Washington, Georgia; and Shirley Hudson of Paris, Tennessee; children; Steve McClain (Tawania) of Hartsville, Tennessee; Nicolas McClain and Todd McClain of Nashville, Tennessee; Kimberly McClain of Jackson, Tennessee; and stepson Timothy Crutchfield (Patricia) of Jackson- ville, Florida. Six grandchildren; Steve Jr., Kingston, lleia, Caiden, Nyla, and Jordan. Three loving sisters-in-law: Wanda (Sylvester) Todd; Freddie (Carroll) Williams of Paris, Tennessee; and Shirley McGhee of Springville, Tennessee; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
