Mr. William Lee Allen, 65, of Paris died Thursday, August 20, 2015, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2015, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Copeland officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday at Rawls Funeral Home.
William Lee Allen was born in Paris, Tennessee to his late parents, William H. and Maggie L. Bowden, on February 24, 1950.
He attended Henry County Training School and he graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1968. After high school, he joined and served in the U. S. Army.
William’s mother passed away at his birth and his late loving grandmothers, Della Allen and Maggie Bowden raised him.
William married on February 28, 1970 to Jannette Louise Skinner whom preceded him. To this union, three children were born.
William was a member of Allen’s Temple Church. He was a quiet man, but full of love and always caring and giving to others. He had a passion for music and dancing. He was a fan of Bonanza, wrestling, SYFY, pool, cards, and sports.
Other than parents; grandparents; ten aunts, Margaret Allen, Betty Allen, Lizzie Copeland, Ezell Payne, Bertha Washum, Roxie Haynes, Christine Clark; uncles, Hurley Allen, Sr., Jack Henderson, Booker Allen; and other relatives and friends all preceded him.
Leaving to cherish his blessed and loving memories: children; Cassandra Mays of Memphis, TN, William C. (Jamie) Allen of Marion, IL, Gayle Allen of McKenzie TN and James W. Allen of Paris, TN. He also had other children in his life: Derrico Hornbuckle of Paris, TN, Tarika Caldwell of Nashville, TN and Alana Johnson of Florida; eleven grandchildren, Zhiya, Zaivion, Zu’Turi, Zynique, Olivia, Kendol, Nadia, Phillip, Amila, J.J. and Quvez; brother, Wayne Allen; sister, Glenda Stockdale; uncle, David L. Allen; aunt, Waynie Puckett; beloved friend, Charlotte Gibson; wrestling friend, Jerry Perry; and beloved cousin that he always introduced as a sister, Brenda Guinyard, other relatives and friends and special Sheree Wofford.
William was raised up around a host of cousins whom he loved. He loved all of his family.
