Ms. Willie F. Royster, 88, of Martin died Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Diversicare of Martin.
She was born on March 23, 1928, the youngest of eight children to the late Ollie and Nora Clemons Royster.
She professed her life, hope and faith in Christ at an early age at McCabe United Methodist Church. Miss Willie never had any children, but she was a mother to all children she came in contact with. She served her church in many capacities starting as a teenager in the choir and later as a mother of the church. She loved the Lord, labored and served her church faithfully until her health prevented.
She was a 1946 graduate of Weakley County Training School, a member of the Weakley County Alumni Association, a retiree from Martin Manufacturing Company and later We Care Ministries, Inc.
Her words after church would always be “How good God is and how good the service and singing was."
She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted sister in law, Ida Royster; a host of nieces and nephews, a cousin, Velma Clemons Tansil and a dear friend, Mary S. Hooper.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her seven siblings.
