Winifred Cynthia Bobo

Mrs. Winifred Cynthia Bobo, 64, of Paris died Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Progressive Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the church and also on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Winifred Cynthia “Cindy” Cowan Bobo was born to her parents Walter Cowan Jr. and the late Julia Cowan on January 20, 1957 at 5:20 pm in Paris, TN.

Cindy graduated from Henry County High School Class of 1975 and attended Murray State University. She was a member of AKA.

Cindy professed her hope in Christ Progressive Baptist Church in 1969 and served as a janitor in the Church at an early age, and on the kitchen committee with her Mommie. Later she went on to serve on the usher board, was a Sunday school teacher, and a member of the choir and was a known soloist with her beautiful voice. Legend!!!

On November 26, 1988 Cindy was united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, Pierce Bobo, into this union, they legally adopted four children.

Cindy was employed by Social Security Office, in New Mexico worked at Phesto USA for Youth Center, worked as a telemarketer in Little Work, AR, Slant and Slant Company Tecumseh, Lowe’s, Henry County Health Care, Peebles in Paris, TN just to name a few, Cindy had a variety of employment until her health began to fail.

Cindy leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband of 32 years, Pierce Bobo; children: Quotesha (George) Williams, III, James (Alecia) Bobo and Michael (Sandra) Bobo; Cindy and Pierce became parents: Lee (Michelle) Lumpkin, Joey (Roxanna) Ayers, Mario Pollard, Crystal Crawford and Carol Curtis; devoted father, Walter Cowan, Jr.; one and only sister, her drill Sgt. And favorite brother-in-law, Margie (Vincent) Nolen; loving nieces, Kourtneil-Jade-Lin Cee Byars, Amber Nolen were her babies, loving cousins: Yvette (Rodney) Littleton, Sr. and family, Emily Mae Arnold, brother-in-law, Rory (Melissa) Ray, sister-in-law, Franz Jones, Delsenia Sales, Charmayne Bel and Wyvonia (Monia) Rudolph; eighteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two goddaughters; Dunlap family, Cozette Davis family (KY); family friend, Ruth Hartsfield “Auntie” all her special friends and classmates: Class of 1975 HCHS; Voice of Praise Choir and PBC Members; and a host of other relatives and friends. Cindy was loved by all and will be missed!

She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Vinson, loving mother, Julia Dunlap Cowan; mother-in-law, Edna “Cookie”
Cox Ray, father-in-law, James E. Ray; grandmother, Frances “Little Motha” Cowan and an aunt, Dorothy Williams.
