Mrs. Mattie Marylee Dysart, of Union City died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Union City Manor Nursing and Rehab.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011, at Mt. Zion CME Church with Rev. Eugene Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born September 4, 1956, in Hickman, Ky., daughter of the late Horace and Katherine (Hurt) Alexander. She had been married to the late Thomas Dysart Sr. She was a member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church and was formerly employed with the Union City School System and at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
She is survived by two daughters, Alice Hurt of Union City and Tolanda Wallace of Dyersburg; her son, Thomas James Dysart Jr. of Union City; her stepchildren, Carolyn Hart and Derrick Frison, both of Union City, Nita Chiers of South Fulton and Anthony Dysart of Illinois; six grandchildren; four sisters, Minnie Ann Alexander of Hickman, Ky., Mary Alexander and Mae Francis Garry, both of Union City, and Mae Ruby Cox of Phillippy; and six stepgrandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Alexander; her stepson, Danny Dysart; and her stepgrandson, Rodrick Chiers.
