Henry Edward Williams, Jr.

Henry Edwards Williams, Jr., 71, of South Fulton died Friday, November 10, 2023, at Southgate Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023, at McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home Chapel in South Fulton. Interment will Follow in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Henry, known as Sam to all that knew him, was born April 10, 1952, to the late Henry E. Williams, Sr. and Lucille Byrd Williams. Sam served in the United States Army and was medically discharged. Later in his life, he met Miss Mona Isbell and they were married on May 12, 1978. To this union, they were blessed with two sons, Marlon T. Williams, and Marcus D. Williams. After several years, Sam's health deteriorated and he was placed in a VA Nursing Home in Marion, Illinois. He lived there for at least 35 years. After having been so far from home for such a long time, the family decided to move him to a facility closer to home and he was placed in the Southgate Nursing Home in Metropolis, Illinois. He lived in Southgate for a few years until he died. Sam leaves to cherish his memories, his sons, Marlon Williams, Fulton, KY; Marcus Williams, Louisville, KY; two sisters, Ada Misher, So. Fulton, TN, Betty Williams, Chicago, Ill; a brother, Jimmie Williams of Chicago, Ill; and three granddaughters, Tiaria Renee Taylor and Mercedes Taylor of Fulton, KY, and Chelsea Williams of Nashville, TN. He also leaves a host of great grandkids, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Dorthy Jane Williams, Sarah Virginia Williams and Shirley Ann Williams and four brothers, Henry Lenard Williams, Charles (Joe Boy) Williams, James (Six Finger) Williams and Joe Lynn Williams.
