Edward Charles Brooks was born October 16,1950 in Union City, TN to the late Edward Brooks and Naomi (Bransford) Brooks.
He leaves to cherish his memories his pride and joy, two daughters, Tia Nicole Brooks of Lawton/Fort Sill, OK and Ebony Charmaine (Cory) Staten of Braselton, GA. He also leaves behind his love of 20 years, Lola Clark of Jonesboro AR, and her children, Bianca, Veronica, Dallas, Deangelo, and a host of bonus nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who loved him dearly as well as his best friend, Charlie James Smith of South Fulton, TN. Also to mention tons nieces, nephews, and cousins, the Mosley’s and Alexander’s.
He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Brooks, mother, Naomi Bransford Brooks; brother, Davis Brooks; sister, Teresa Brooks; nephew, Davis (Peanut) Brooks Jr ; Grandmothers, Omie Bransford McKinney, and Toylee Brooks; Grandfathers, Collin Brooks and Jim Bransford. Aunts, Edrell Mosley (Cletus), and Maggie Alexander (Raymond); Uncles, Leslie Bransford, James (Bubba) Bransford (Thelma), and Willis Bransford.
Charles was simply a smooth man. Described by his daughters as the “coolest old man walking”. Although he was 74 years old, you would have never guessed it by the way he carried himself. You rarely ever saw him without his fitted hat on, cocked to the side, and his flashy shades. One could argue that he single handedly kept Citi Trends of Jonesboro, AR in business; as well as his favorite place to eat, KFC. He had a smile that would light up any room, a heart made of pure gold and was a joy to be around although he had no issues telling you exactly what he thought at any given moment, whether you asked for his opinion or not. He was there for the people he loved and would help those in need any time he could. He was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be truly missed. We find peace and comfort in knowing he was surrounded by genuine love until the day he transitioned from his earthly body to be with our Lord and Savior.
