Donald Leslie Freeman, affectionately known as Leslie, was born on August 31, 1951, in Weakley County, Tennessee. He passed away on December 22, 2025, at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin, Tennessee.
Leslie dedicated over 20 years of his life to MTD, where his commitment and work ethic were respected by colleagues and managers alike. An alum of the Weakley County Training School and Job Corps, he fostered a lifelong value for education and personal growth.
He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. His military service was a source of pride and shaped the values and principles he carried throughout his life, including a deep love for his family.
Leslie is survived by his sisters, Carol Jordan and Cheryl Henry, and brothers Lesley (Tae Sun) Freeman, Jr., and Jerry Freeman, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember him fondly for his strong character and caring nature.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Iris Smith Freeman; father, Lesley R. Freeman, Sr.; sister, Linda Freeman; and brother, James Freeman.
Visitation services will be held on December 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Old Fulton Road Church of Christ located at 307 Old Fulton Road, Martin, Tennessee, 38237.
Leslie's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, embodied in the lessons he imparted and the love he shared.
