James "Cootie" Louis Fuller

Mr. James "Cootie" Fuller, 91, of Union City died Thursday, September 12, 2024, at his home.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, at McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

James Louis Fuller Jr., lovingly known as “Cootie” and “Jimmy,” was born on May 15, 1933, in Moffatt, Tennessee, to James Fuller Sr. and Carrie (Victory) Fuller.

On November 6, 1954, James married Hilda (Casnave) Fuller. He had four children: Jimmy Fuller Jr., James Richard Louis Fuller, Rickey Fuller, and Stephanie Johnson. A passionate Dallas Cowboys fan, James cherished game days, finding joy and excitement in cheering for his favorite team. When his eyesight began to fade, he took comfort in listening to baseball games, which brought him entertainment and a sense of connection to the sports he loved.

Though a man of few words, James had a heart full of love for his family and close friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Carrie Fuller, his sister Dorothy Fuller, his sons Jimmy Fuller and James Richard Louis Fuller Jr., his daughter Stephanie Johnson, his grandsons Rodrica "Rod" Johnson and De’Antae L. Fuller, and his beloved aunt, Ruby Mae (Victory) Harris .

James leaves behind his son Rickey (Patricia) Fuller, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his dear long-time friend and caregiver, Regina King.

His memory will be forever cherished by all who had the privilege to know and love him.
